This Privacy Policy explains how UtaliiSiti collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information across the UtaliiSiti Web App, Desktop App, and Mobile App (together, the "Platform"). It complements our Terms of Use. If you disagree with this Policy, please discontinue use of the Platform.

Certain third-party vendors (e.g., hosting, mapping, messaging, and sync infrastructure) act as processors or sub-processors.
Project: UtaliiSiti is a project of Datacities and Toro-Dev ODA.

5. How We Use Information
- To operate core features across Web, Desktop, and Mobile, including offline form submission and syncing on the Mobile App.
- To attribute submissions to the correct tourism zone, site, or department, so data stays organised and traceable.
- To combine data from different departments into a shared picture that supports tourism, trade, and environmental planning and decision-making.
- To secure the Platform, manage permissions, detect abuse, send updates, and generate analytics and reports.
- To fulfil legal and regulatory requirements.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
6. Location Data
Where a form requires it, UtaliiSiti may capture the location of a submission to tie it to the correct tourism zone or site, for route tracking, inspector verification, or event logging. Location data is only collected in connection with submissions you choose to make, and only when your device permissions allow it.
7. Data Sharing & Disclosure
Submission data may be shared with relevant city, tourism, trade, or government authorities for the purposes of oversight and planning. We may also share information with service providers who help us operate the Web, Desktop, and Mobile Apps (such as hosting, mapping, and infrastructure providers), under obligations to keep it secure. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of UtaliiSiti, its users, or the public.
8. Data Storage, Security & Retention
Data submitted through the Web, Desktop, or Mobile Apps is stored securely and synced to our servers once your device has an internet connection. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures — including access controls and encryption in transit — to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law.
9. Cookies & Similar Technologies (Web App)
The UtaliiSiti Web App may use cookies or similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the dashboard is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may limit some Web App features. The Desktop and Mobile Apps do not use browser cookies but may store equivalent local data (such as session tokens) on your device.
10. Children's Privacy
UtaliiSiti is intended for use by authorised staff, administrators, and partners of participating organisations, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. International Data Transfers
Some of our hosting and service providers may process data outside Uganda. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure such providers apply appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable data protection law.

13. Third-Party Services
The Platform may rely on third-party services for hosting, mapping, messaging, crash reporting, and analytics. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their service to us and are bound by appropriate confidentiality and data protection obligations.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes across the Web, Desktop, or Mobile Apps. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
